At Own, we innovate to deliver ongoing value and provide solutions our customers will never outgrow. Every few months, we recap some of the new features and capabilities we've been working on. Below, we highlight some of our recent product releases and how they can improve your experience using Own.
If you're more of a visual learner, we recently demoed several of these features in our new webinar series, "What’s New in Own." Watch on-demand here.
Own Recover for Salesforce, ServiceNow, and Microsoft
New Compare Screen
Easily identifying changes in your data is the first step to recovering from a data loss quickly. Recently, we updated our Compare functionality in Own Recover to be easier to use. The Compare fill-in form fields are responsive as you start filling them in, which means fewer clicks to execute a compare job. This is good because the faster you can identify the changes, the faster you can fix them, restore them, and return to normal business operations.
Initiate Jobs from the Services Screen
We recently launched the ability to initiate restore, compare, or find jobs right from Own Recover’s services screen. This update lets our customers start any restore, compare or find job directly from our application's home page, saving them the time and energy it takes to complete any find, compare, and restore job. It also increases time to value since you can address issues in the first screen you land on in the application.
Own Recover for Microsoft
Synthetic Backups
A synthetic backup uses your last full backup and incrementally adds any data changes to create a new, up-to-date backup. Instead of downloading data from scratch every time, a synthetic backup allows you to build on your recent backup efforts, layering on incremental data changes as they come. With synthetic backups, Dynamics 365 CRM customers can run daily backups faster and lower their RTO and RPO goals.
Own Archive
Unarchive SDK
With the new unarchive SDK (software development kit) feature, you can programmatically trigger an unarchive function according to specific filters by initiating a search. This means you can quickly bulk unarchive up to 10,000 records at a time, which can be particularly useful for a business undergoing restructuring or internal changes. A company might decide to archive a large set of records only to realize it needs them back in Salesforce shortly after.
This new functionality offers peace of mind, knowing you can quickly, easily, and automatically bring back those records. You can do all this directly from the Archive product, so there's no need to rely on Recover to do a compare and restore job.
Abort Operation
Our customers sometimes need to stop an archiving activity while it's already running. This might be because they made a policy mistake, they have already reached their API limit, or the job is taking too long. For any of these reasons, it's critical to stop this activity from running any further.
With the new abort operation functionality, you can immediately stop the ongoing activity from archiving, unarchiving, or exporting any further. Once the process is stopped, you'll receive a log of the activity completed before it was halted, allowing you to be thoughtful about how to proceed.
Own Accelerate
Custom Picklist Values in Anonymization
Own Accelerate anonymizes sensitive information to ensure you can adequately develop and test in sandboxes. Coming across errors when seeding invalid picklist values only slows down these crucial steps.
Now, when you select Custom Anonymization and choose the custom list option for a picklist field, you will see the original options pre-populated with the source's picklist values. With the original options, you can remove values or add new ones based on what exists in the source so you can seed intended records successfully with fewer errors.
